On May 6, the 74-year-old actor Pandu died of complications connected to COVID-19. Pandu and Kumudha were admitted to a private hospital for treatment after testing positive for COVID-19.

As a result of complications related to COVID-19, Pandu passed away at the hospital. Notable television appearances by Pandu include those in Sabitha Engira Sabapathi, Dhinam Dhinam Deepavali, Valli (as Natarajan), and Uravugal Sangamam.
