Best Dubbed Romance Anime

1. Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions

The story of coming of age is told in Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions. Despite the fact that the story revolves around Rikka overcoming her “Delusions,” it ultimately delves into the inevitability of maturity.

As Yuuta tries to guide Rikka through life, the story unfolds with a blend of sweet and humorous moments. Thanks to its beautiful animation and touching, melancholy moments, this anime has become a favorite among romance and humor lovers.

Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions

This anime is highly recommended for anyone interested in adolescence, self-acceptance, and accepting one’s own identity.

2. My Happy Marriage

In My Happy Marriage, the main character, Miyo Saimori, is a woman. The protagonist of the anime begins by thinking back on her troubled childhood and how her life was transformed by a man called Kiyoka Kudou.

Mio is a wonderful person, but she causes a lot of unnecessary trouble due to her timidity and awkwardness.As one would expect from a romance, it builds slowly and features realistic character growth.

My Happy Marriage

This anime is perfect if you’re seeking a romantic comedy. I promise you, the story’s resolution will satisfy you.

3. Tomo-Chan is a Girl!

Tomo-Chan is a Girl! is unlike any other romantic comedy because of its great romance and purposeful comedy. Tomo Aizawa, a tomboy, is at the core of the story as she tries to persuade her childhood best friend that she is more than just a “normal” buddy. No sweat, is it?

No, particularly when you’re at the pinnacle of your Karate game.There are some hilarious and heartwarming moments as she tries to get Jun to view her as a girl.

Tomo-Chan is a Girl!

The support of her pals Misuzu and Carol helps her to accept herself just as she is. Yes, the entire premise is false, and it is one of the many wonderful things (apart from the show’s hilariousness) about it!

4. Snow White with the Red Hair

The romantic fantasy anime Snow White with the Red Hair is an adaptation of Sorata Akizuki’s manga of the same name. The protagonist, Shirayuki, is a hopeful herbalist from the town of Tanbarun.

Because of her stunning long red hair, she is often the only one in town.Her crimson locks pique Prince Raji’s interest, and he approaches her about being his concubine.

She says no, so she chops off her long hair and runs away to a new town—Clarines—in this instance. She first encounters Zen, our male protagonist, in Clarines.

Snow White with the Red Hair

Zen gives her the role of court herbalist because he is impressed by her expertise and determination.Zen and Shirayuki form a friendship that blossoms into a passionate love story as they spend more time together.

Snow White with the Red Hair delves into the intricacies of social order, fate, and self-discovery with breathtaking animations, images, and a “fairy-tale” atmosphere.  It should definitely be on your “MUST WATCH” list! (I mean, that’s obvious!)

5. Ouran High School Host

ClubOne example of anime realistic fiction is Ouran High School Host Club. What we learn from this program is that there is more to anime than magical battles and explosive action sequences.

The plot centers on our female protagonist, Haruhi, who finds herself in a difficult financial situation after breaking a pricey vase by mistake and is now forced to work as a host to repay her debt.As time goes on, she becomes closer to the other members of the group she is compelled to join, almost like a family.

Ouran High School Host

The surprise is that Haruhi now entertains female clients because the club members think she’s a boy because of her androgynous appearance. Comedic situations abound in the anime as Haruhi navigates the opulent environment of the Host Club while concealing her gender.

Some mysterious, unexplainable quality exists in Ouran.  Elegance, magic, riches, and beauty seem to permeate the anime’s environment at all times.

As soon as you step foot in this place, you’ll feel at ease.Their dub was really top-notch, Ouran! The dialogue sounds natural, the translation of the comedic scenes is spot on, and even dubbed the opening! (why isn’t it done more often?) The point is that the choice of VAs was spot on!

Also, 2008 was the year when this anime dub came out. Also, Shissou with Guitar Riff has a guitar riff that you shouldn’t miss.

6. Kamisama Kiss

Can you imagine what it would be like to be bestowed the divine abilities of a god? You certainly did! The premise of Kamisama Kiss is also comparable.

A high school girl named Nanami (no, not the one from Jujutsu Kaisen) and her father, who suffers from a serious gambling problem, are the protagonists of the story.

Eventually, Nanami’s father vanishes without a trace, leaving her with a mountain of debt. Young people shouldn’t gamble. She ends up on the streets since she can’t afford to pay off her debt.

Kamisama Kiss

She rescued Mikage from a rogue dog one night; the dog turned out to be the Land God. After planting a kiss on her forehead, he bestows his powers upon her, allowing her to travel to his shrine. There, she encounters Tomoe, a yokai, and the shikigamis Kotetsu and Onikiri.

Tomoe and Nanami develop a complicated friendship that eventually turns love as Nanami figures out how to handle her new celestial duties. The incorporation of supernatural themes gives this anime a fairly unique premise. I highly recommend this romance anime with dubs.

7. Horimiya

Based on HERO’s manga of the same name, Horimiya is an anime series that features romantic comedies. Our heroine, the popular girl in school Kyouko Hori, dresses casually when she’s at home caring for her brother.

Izumi Miyamura, the male protagonist and a shy student, is depicted as having tattoos and piercings. After Hori’s brother Sora suffers a nosebleed, Miyamura brings him home. They learn one other’s secrets and opt not to share them (I don’t see how wearing nothing but a shirt can be considered a secret).

Horimiyaf

Over the course of Miyamura’s many visits to play with Sora, the two form an intimate friendship. Other minor characters and their perspectives are also shown to us.Everything about the story’s execution is flawless.

You shouldn’t miss this anime because of its reputation for deconstructing typical romance cliches and offering a relevant and genuine depiction of relationships in high school.

8. Golden Time

Banri Tada develops amnesia after a terrible accident causes him to lose all recollection of his past. Banri meets Mitsuo Yanagisawa after becoming disoriented while pursuing two individuals from his faculty.

They hit it off right away and are on their way to college when a taxi pulls up next them. Kouko Kaga suddenly and unexpectedly shows up in Banri’s life right when he was about to settle into college.

Golden Time

Interactions between these three form the backbone of the plot, with Mitsuo’s betrothed Kouko being the object of his constant attempts at concealment.

Koko is determined to get back together with Mitsuo and pursue him despite his best efforts to put distance between them.Without revealing too much, it’s important to know that Golden Time examines love, forgiveness, and self-discovery via the relationship of Mitsuo and Koko. This is among the best romance anime with dubs because it accurately depicts genuine relationships.

9. Kaguya-sama: Love is War

For six months, what if two Tsunderes who love each other are locked in a room? At all! Expected what? The plot of Kaguya-sama: Love is War revolves around this.

When Miyuki first laid eyes on Kaguya, she fell head over heels for her. He decides to challenge Kaguya to a showdown after being rejected so they can see who gets a higher score on their next exam.

At this point in the first season, Miyuki has won and taken over as president of the council.The catch is that Miyuki and Kaguya were both unaware of how deeply they felt for each other, and their pride prevented them from admitting it. So, what did they decide? Absolute nothing!

Kaguya-sama Love is War

They made the decision to engage in psychological manipulation in the hopes that one would come clean. One interpretation of the anime’s title is that the protagonists are engaged in a “war” for love.Comedic moments abound in this show.

Take, for instance, the “CAT EARS” episode, in which Kaguya couldn’t help but burst out laughing at the mention of… sausages (you get the picture), or the scene in which Miyuka shockingly succeeds in giving terrible love advise. When I think of “Rom-Com,” I think of this show.

10. Toradora!

My darling!, authored by Yuyuko Takemiya (who also wrote “Golden Time”—mentioned earlier in the list-is another light novel based on an anime series that combines romantic comedy with drama, comparable to Kaguya-sama: Love is War.

Ryuuji Takasu and Taiga Aisaka, an unusual pair, are the protagonists of the story. Kind and enthusiastic about helping around the house, Ryuuji Takasu is a student at a local high school.

His frightening appearance belies his amiable personality, leading many to mistake him for a juvenile offender. Taiga Aisaka, in contrast, is a petite student who is far from delicate and endearing.

Toradora!

Ryuuji is usually in her path because, contrary to her appearance, she enjoys using others as a punching bag. Prepare to be surprised! Did you expect that?

Taiga secretly loves Ryuuji’s best buddy, Yusaku Kitamura, and Ryuuji secretly loves Minori Kushieda, Taiga’s best friend. As the protagonists navigate the complexities of high school life, we witness their interactions as the story delves into issues of friendship and love.

11. Oregairu

Think about how you would react if you were the victim of so much rejection, loneliness, and bullying that you decided to construct barriers to protect yourself. Hello, I am Hikigaya Hachiman.

Apathetic high school student Hikigaya is the protagonist of Oregairu, also known as “My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU.” Hikigaya has narcissistic and semi-nihilistic inclinations. Like a jaded high schooler, Hikigaya would condemn anyone who chooses to savor even a fleeting moment of their youth.

Surprisingly, he is socially conscious despite his preference for solitude. When it comes to reading people’s emotions and motivations, he is unrivaled.

Oregairu

He still wanted to feel like he belonged somewhere, even after everything that happened. And he does! The other members of the Service Club, including Yui and Yukino, forced him to join as well.

The novel delves into their interactions, capturing the challenges and growth of their teenage selves. This animation shows how “Society Can Break You,” in my view.

12. Fruit’s Basket

The narrative of Fruits Basket revolves around the Zodiac and the curse that befell the Sohma family due to their possession by zodiac animal spirits.

Tohru Honda, our beloved airhead, is introduced to us at the beginning of the novel. She stops by the Sohmas’ house on her way to school, where she meets Shigure and then others.

She knew this wouldn’t be her final encounter with them. Here we see the story’s original premise in action! Tohru quickly learns that the Sohmas are bewitched by the Chinese zodiac and assume the forms of the zodiac animals if they are stressed or touched by someone of the other sex.

Fruit’s Basket

The show explores themes of love, acceptance, and friendship, and its characters are perfect in every way. One of the most popular romantic anime,

Fruit’s Basket has rich character development and emotional depth, and it offers you just the right amount of comedic and affecting moments—what we call “poignant humor”—to keep you hooked.

13. Clannad

“Clannad” and “Clannad: After Story” are the two seasons of the critically praised anime series Clannad, which is based on Key’s visual novel of the same name.

This sequence is crucial—you’ll understand it after you finish the second season— but it opens with Tomoya and Nagisa meeting on a hill.

Clannad

When it comes to love anime, Clannad is among the more “Realistic” options. It stands out from the rest because to the flawless animations, graphics, opening and concluding sequences, original soundtrack, and dubbing. Do yourself a favor and watch Clannad and its After Story; it is a masterwork.

14. Your Lie in April

The dub needs to sound well because Your Lie in April is an anime about music. Fortunately, the plot comes to life thanks to the excellent work of the English voice cast.

Your Lie in April

Kousei Arima, the protagonist, is a middle school student and former piano prodigy whose mother’s death left him unable to hear his own music. He rediscovers joy in music and in life as a whole through his friendship with the dying violinist Kaori Miyazono.

15. I Want To Eat Your Pancreas

Even though the dubs aren’t always up to grade, the overall production value of an anime film is typically higher than that of an anime series due to the larger costs.

Take the excellent dub of “I Want To Eat Your Pancreas” as an example. This heartbreaking tale follows a young couple as they form a bond: the girl, who is terminally ill with pancreatic disease, and the boy, who had a social anxiety disorder until he met her.

Erika Harlacher expertly portrays Sakura’s dual emotions—the joy and mirth she expresses before her absolute devastation at her own imminent demise— and Robbie Daymond deftly moves between the unnamed male protagonist’s initial flat affect and his later emotional scenes.

16. Wolf Children

Wolf Children is a famous film by Mamoru Hosoda about a young woman named Hana who falls for a man with wolf transformation abilities. Their lives are set in motion when they tie the knot and start a family. However, when the wolfman dies suddenly, Hana is left to fend for herself and their children.

This film tackles weighty issues like the relative merits of human and animal lives while simultaneously portraying a moving relationship. The dub cast brilliantly brings out the comedic, emotional, and intellectual parts of the original.

17. My Dress-Up Darling

My Dress-Up Darling is a great choice, particularly in dub, if you enjoy watching geeks fall in love. Classmates Marin Kitagawa and Wakana Gojo hardly ever speak to each other since Gojo is the shy, reserved student and Marin is the class clown.

However, Marin finds out that Gojo has a hidden crush on Hina dolls and approaches him about helping her pursue her cosplay goals.

Each character’s unique personality and the range of emotions they experience during the series are expertly brought to life by the English dub cast.

The vibrant and effervescent Marin is brilliantly portrayed by Vtuber AmaLee, particularly when she shows her love for Gojo. Conversely, Paul Dateh brilliantly portrays Gojo as an introverted and uncomfortable adolescent.

18. 5 Centimeters Per Second

An early work by Makoto Shinkai is 5 Centimeters Per Second. Since it’s so gloomy and dark, it’s crucial that the voices don’t detract from the mood. Not only does the dub cast maintain the tone, they elevate it.

The plot is straightforward: best friends Takaki Toono and Akari Shinohara are torn apart after Akari’s family is uprooted due to her parents’ work.

5 Centimeters Per Second

It appears like their only remaining opportunity to cross paths is right before Takaki moves somewhere that will further separate them.

Unfortunately, they are only able to spend a little minute together due to things like inclement weather and train delays; but, in that fleeting period, their intense emotions are on full display.

19. Princess Jellyfish

The plot of Princess Jellyfish is too intricate to be reduced to a simple love narrative. In a female-only apartment, Tsukimi, a twenty-something otaku, lives with a huge gang of nerdy, socially dysfunctional women.

Having a safe haven where she can be authentic makes her happy, but she wishes she could broaden her horizons a bit. Meeting Kuranosuke, a stunning crossdresser with more guts than she ever imagined, helps her break out of her shell.

Princess Jellyfish

The voice actors in the dub really nailed it by giving each character their own distinct voice. If you were to ask someone to describe Mayaya’s voice, they would say it was that of an anime fanatic.

You will enjoy the dub if you adore the idea.

20. Honey & Clover

An underappreciated anime from the early 2000s, Honey & Clover follows a group of art students as they seek to define their life’s purpose. Along with sorting out their jobs, they also need to figure out their personal relationships, which can be quite hard.

Honey & Clover

Every character goes on a significant emotional journey, whether it’s dealing with the anguish of unrequited loves or the complexities of a real relationship. An outstanding job is done by the English dub cast in conveying the characters’ emotions.
