She stayed for a year and a half before becoming a news anchor and reporter for WBRE-TV (NBC 11) in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, in 1999.

In Hartford, Connecticut, she was employed by WFSB-TV (CBS 3). She was the weekend host of New York’s WNYW-TV (FOX 5). She began working for FNC in March 2005 in the role of general assignment correspondent. Gradually, she worked her way up to the role of correspondent located in New York.

While at FNC, she gained fame for covering major stories, such as 2005’s Hurricane Dennis and the 2005 abduction of American student Natalee Holloway from Aruba. She covered the murder of 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford by a sex offender as well as the court case of Terri Schiavo from Florida.

The on-air confrontation between her and Shirley Phelps-Roper, an American lawyer and ex-spokeswoman for the notoriously hateful Westboro Baptist Church—which has been known to incite violence against LGBT individuals, Catholics, Muslims, Jews, and US soldiers in June 2006 garnered her widespread media exposure across the world.

After Laurie Dhue stepped down as host of Fox Report Weekend in 2008, she took over the role. On Saturdays, she took over as host of America’s News Headquarters. Her 2010 promotion to general news correspondent was a major accomplishment.

Many people were grateful for her live coverage of several events in 2013, including the mayoral campaign in New York City, the crash landing of Southwest Flight 345 at LaGuardia Airport, the inauguration of Pope Francis, and Hurricane Sandy.
