Here in this article, we are providing you Param Vir Chakra Winner List of 21 winners of this award of Bravery. Param Vir Chakra is India’s highest military honor. This award is mostly given posthumously. This honor is given to soldiers for exceptional valor, valor, and sacrifice. The award was first given to Major Somnath Sharma of the 4th division of the Kumaon brigade of the Indian Army on November 3, 1947. However, the official declaration of the award was made by the country’s first President Rajendra Prasad on January 26, 1950. The unique thing is that this Param Vir Chakra was intended by Savita Khanolkar, wife of Vikram Khanolkar, an army officer.
Officers or employees of any part of the Indian Army are eligible for this award and it is considered the most prestigious award after the country’s highest honor Bharat Ratna. Earlier, when the Indian Army worked under the British Army, the highest honor of the Army was the Victoria Cross. There is also a provision to give cash or pension to military personnel of the rank of lieutenant or below, on receiving this award, to them (or their dependents). However, the lesser amount of pension which is given to military widows before their remarriage or death

The Param Vir Chakra is awarded for bravery displayed on the battlefield, in the highest category of gallantry. This award is given to a brave soldier personally or posthumously, to his representative. The award is presented by the then President of the country with his own hands in a special ceremony.
