Shooting game started in European countries 500 years ago. It became popular game in 1950 when National Association of America created as sport. Now this game played by all world.
In this game shoot guns like shooting, pistol and rifles, the target reflects the accuracy, control and speed of shooter. There are three major guns that are used in competition rifles, pistols and shotguns.
Shooting is an important and popular Olympic sport in India. Out of 26 Olympic Medals, 4 medals have come from Shooting.

The National Rifle Association of India organises the following tournaments every year NSCC-National Shooting Championship Competitions, AIGVMSC-All India G.V. Mavlankar Shooting Championship, Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Memorial Masters Shooting Championship, Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship, All India Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Inter School Shooting Championship

Women’s shooting events were first included in the Olympics in 1984. There were three events, three position rifle, air rifle and sport pistol.

    Anjali Bhagwat born on 5th December 1969 in Mumbai. She is professional Indian Shooter. She won her first World Cup Final in Milan with score of 399/400 in 2003. She won total 55 Gold, 35 Silver and 16 Bronze medal in Domestic Games. Internationally, She won 31 Gold, 23 silver and 7 Bronze medal. In 2001, she won 3 Gold and 2 silver medals in Commonwealth Championship 2001 England. In 2000, Asian Championships Malaysia she won 1 Gold and 1 silver medal and then after she became world's number one shooter in 10m Air Rifle.

    Heena Sidhu born in 29 August 1989 in Ludhiana, Punjab(India). Sidhu received a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2013 also in 2013 Shidhu became first Indian Pistal shooter. On 7 April 2014 Sidhu got first ranking in the world. In 2009, Sidhu won a silver medal at the ISSF World Cup in Beijing. Recently Sidhu won gold medal in 2018 common wealth games held in Gold Coast, Australia On 7 Feburary 2013, Sidhu married with Ronak Pandit , also a pistol shooter. Sidhu's father was a national sports shooter. Her brother is also a shooter in the 10 metre air pistol event.

    Suma Shirur was born on 10 May 1974 in Chikkaballapur in the Karnataka state of India. She completed her education in Mumbai. As a part of the Maharashtra Rifle Association, In 1993, she won three silver medals in Maharashtra State Championship. In 1994, she won junior nation championship. In 1997, she won Gold medal in National Games in Bangalore. In 2004 summer Olympics in Athens, Shirur scored 497.2 points in the event. At the 2005 Championships in Bangkok, she won the bronze medal.

She did her schooling from Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' School, Jaipur.She studied Sociology honours from Jesus and Mary College Delhi. In National shooting championships in New Delhi 2012, she won Gold medal in 10M air rifle shooting. She qualified 2016 Rio Olympics and got 34th rank out of 51 contestants. Recently, 9th April 2018 Apurvi Chandela won branze medal in CWG 2018.
