Bollywood Movies based on Indian Army: Exploring Bollywood’s Tribute to the Indian Armed Forces

Bollywood Movies based on Indian Army: Army veterans have a lot of complaints with Bollywood war films, including incorrect portrayals of ranks , uniforms, and operations, excessive dialoguebaazi, and overdone brutality. Like in Hindi films, no one in the Army ever makes a blatantly patriotic or grandiose proclamation about how much they love their country.

Veterans say that a sense of patriotism is always there, but that it’s more of a background emotion for all soldiers. Although the use of computer-generated imagery (CGI), visual effects (VFX), and other special effects has allowed films about the Indian Army to technically advance and create more realistic images, the stories have consistently been weak.

Officers claim that their films almost never feature depictions of the ferocity of battle, a soldier’s objections to war, life in the midst of combat, or the effects of war on a soldier. HS Panag, a retired Lieutenant General, says, “The inner being of a soldier is never explored in Hindi films, like it is in a Saving Private Ryan and other Hollywood films on the military.

“They believe that every once in a while, nevertheless, there are films that defy expectations and remain classics. Throughout the years, soldiers of the Indian Army have shared their favorite Bollywood films about the force, ranging from Haqeeqat, which depicts a soldier’s  principles, to Lakshya, which examines the effects of battle on both the soldier and those around him.
