Volleyball is a game which is played by two teams of 6 player each side on on a rectangular court. Volleyball was first played on 1895 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, United States. In this game players of both teams use their hands to hit a large ball backwards and forwards over a high net without allowing the ball to touch the ground. If the team allow the ball to touch the ground, the other team wins a point. In 1964 Volleyball became a part of Summer Olympic games. Lawanson played for the Major Volleyball League's Dallas Belles and Minnesota Monarchs from 1987 to 1989.
