Alice Walker was born on February 9, 1944 in in Eatonton, Georgia, She is an American novelist, short story writer, poet, and activist.
She won the “National Book Award” and the “Pulitzer Prize for Fiction” for her novel “The Color Purple” which she wrote in 1982.

She owned $300 million of wealth which is the fruit of her unstoppable dedication and wide thinking capacity. She coined the term “womanist” to mean “A black feminist or feminist of color.” in 1983.
